Patients are transferred from the SAC C-17 Globemaster III long-range cargo jet into an ambulance where they will be transported to receive further medical care June 8, 2015, at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. The mission that consisted of a transport of patients with one in critical condition, traveling approximately 2,000 miles (over 3,200 kilometers) from Bulgaria to Ramstein for additional medical support, was the first time that the SAC member nation United States and the Heavy Airlift Wing carried out a CCATT mission together.
